What We Do
One Network, Three Ways We Connect
SimpleFolk Network is unified to produce sincere followers of Jesus, influence communities, and resist cultural anti-Christian propaganda through simple and relevant methods.
Online
We connect people, supply believers with learning materials, and touch the world with simplistic truth through videos, social media, articles, and e-books.
In the Community
Our teams bring assistance, promote dignity, and provide biblical understanding to inner city communities through hands-on events and local partnerships.
In the Church
We partner with local churches, sending trained disciples to support their vision and gifted ministers to teach, train, and inspire staff and members.
Our Story
Rooted in Birmingham Since 2009
What became SimpleFolk Network began as grassroots mission activity in 2009, with Damon Davis initiating community efforts across Birmingham long before SFN was formally founded in 2017. Those early seeds were planted in Woodlawn and Avondale, two communities that remain at the heart of SFN's work today.
Over the years, SFN has sponsored basketball leagues at Iron City Sports and the MLK Jr. Park recreation center in North Avondale, and partnered with Anthony's Barber & Style and Real Cutz to host free haircut events at Ramsay High School. SFN also joined with Trafficking Hope to raise awareness of sex trafficking through community car washes.
SFN has worked with the YWCA on programs for working parents and their CREW program for teenagers, and organized "Lyrics for Literacy," a spoken-word showcase benefitting the Literacy Council of Central Alabama and M-Power Ministries.
Most significantly, SFN's "Collective Discipleship" program, held at The Abbey, gave birth to Collective Community Church (C3) in Avondale, a congregation now carrying the same heartbeat of community, faith, and transformation.

Damon Davis
Founder & Network Director
Damon Davis is first a husband and father, and a man with a genuine passion for young people in urban communities. He grew up in inner-city Detroit and spent formative years in the Nashville area. That contrast between northern and southern living gave him a unique lens for understanding urban America.
At the age of 24, Damon met Jesus Christ and was radically changed. Since then, he has introduced countless people to Jesus while building a reputation for passionate teaching, biblical understanding, and the ability to help others develop across economic, racial, and academic lines.
Today, Damon serves as both Lead Pastor of Collective Community Church and Director of SimpleFolk Network, working alongside his wife Malissa to mobilize a network of people from God's Church to touch communities in practical and loving ways that anyone can recognize and appreciate.
